Remote Controls

Besides being a stay-at-home cat mom, I'm also a professional couch potato. That's right. I watch a lot of TV on cable, On Demand, and Netflix through our Xbox. I rely heavily on the TV/cable remote and the Xbox controller.

We don't have a DVD player because the Xbox can be used as one. Thing is, I rarely watch DVDs anymore anyway, so when I do, I am absolutely dumbfounded by the fact that the controller will not pick up the DVD and place it back in its case. Are you kidding me? I actually have to get up off the couch to take the DVD out of the Xbox with my own hands. My own hands! You should feel really sorry for me.

  2. Haha! Seriously, you can open and close the tray with the controller, why won't it put the DVD in the box, too???

I still can't believe we actually used to have to get up off the couch and change the channel every time. My kids are aghast at this notion and frankly, so am I. I so wouldn't put up with that shit now. But get this - this morning my boys are in the tv room eating breakfast. One is playing video games, the other is complaining he wants to watch tv. So I remind him he can watch on his phone or his iPad. You know what the little shit said to me? "Are you kidding me? It's way too small." oh. my. god.

  8. This made me laugh. I remember the tv as a kid and having to get up and change the channel. One year we broke the knob and no money for a new tv, so we had to turn it with pliers! So funny to remember. I am so not techie, the hubs has to put the dvd on for me as I am a spaz. We have a basket of remotes on the table and I just hand the basket to him and have him turn on the various equipment. I can handle just the tv.

  11. Hahahaha! That happened to us, too! Omg, thanks for bringing back that memory! Fortunately, we really only deal with 2 controllers, but the TV/cable one can be confusing because it has so many buttons!

  12. Believe me, if I could teach the cats how to do it, I would. The only problem then, is that they'd probably ignore me when I asked. lol

  13. Yeah! I hate the fact that I'm always sick on my day off. It's like my body holds it until it has some time.
