10 Pics From My Phone

For this week's Monday Listicles at The Good Life we could either post 10 pics from our phones, or 10 names we've considered for our kids. We don't have kids, so I thought about posting 10 possible names for future pets, but they're names only I've thought about, not something my husband had any part in. So. Pictures it is. I deleted pics from my phone recently after uploading them to my computer, so these are the 10 most recent photos I've taken.

  1. I have been trying to passively sell my guitar. A friend was curious, so he asked me to text him a picture. He hasn't texted me back.
    Please buy me!
  2. The Old Folks on the left; the Boys on the right. They are resting on armchairs a pair of expensive scratching posts.
L to R: the Prince, the Princess, Feral Cat, Thugdoll
  3. My laugable attempt at a sock bun. Things I learned: brush out the curls so the bun doesn't look like an old cushion with the coils springing out; use a solid-color sock so the design doesn't show through; use pantyhose instead; grow my hair longer.
This could be one of the mattresses
people toss next to the dumpsters in the alley.
  4. Last week my husband and I decided to check out the new grilled cheese place that opened nearby. Grilled cheese sandwiches are actually something I can make, so I suggested we order ingredients that we wouldn't have on hand at home, at least not for a grilled cheese.
    Mushroom and fontina on sourdough
with cream of tomato bisque. Yum!
  5. On Thanksgiving morning we went for a walk and from outside, saw the Boys enjoying the sun. Of course I had to take a picture.
    Feral Cat and Thugdoll
  6. On that same walk we stopped at a footbridge that crosses a small branch of the Chicago River in our neighborhood.

  7. Now that we live in a roomier dwelling, we can actually put up a tree! We didn't last year, but this year I was insistent, never mind the cats. I would have preferred a live tree, but they love plants too much. Also, the Prince has been known to eat broom straws, and I've already seen him munching on the tree's needles. They aren't even real! Meanwhile, Feral Cat thinks it's a new scratching post. We haven't even put up the ornaments. I'm wondering if we should bother.
    Thugdoll claims his territory.
  8. The newest addition to our Lego Winter Village collection, which is part of our holiday decorations.

  9. I was surprised this picture came out halfway decent because it's really hard to photograph jewelry. This is a necklace I made recently:
    Porcelain beads in honey and aqua;
    vintage bronze wire.
  10. Sigh
Feral Cat photobombs a picture of the Prince.

    1. Yeah, my hair styling skills are limited to the ponytail. ;)

  2. The necklace you made is beautiful! I love it! My cat used to climb up the tree and nestle in on the lowest branches and sleep.

    1. Hi, Julia! I'm glad you like the necklace. I'm tempted to keep it for myself! I'm afraid the cats may discover the fun of climbing the tree, but I think they're too heavy for the branches to hold them. :D

  3. Those are great pictures! I love that you have a lego gingerbread house.

I can't get the sock bun to work on me either. My hair is so thin it doesn't cover the sock up all the way. Sigh.

    Your necklace is awesome!

    1. We have an entire Lego holiday village! I just haven't put together the post office, bakery, and toy shop yet.

Those sock bun videos sure make it look easy. I guess it is if you have even a modicum of hair styling skills, which I do not.

      Glad you like the necklace!

  4. What fun pictures! I love the one you took of your kitties in the window. And the Chicago River. And really...a restaurant devoted to grilled cheese? While what you had looks delicious, I think I would have a hard time paying money for something I make all the time! (That's the cheap me talking!)

    1. Exactly! That's why I told my husband we were to order "fancy" grilled cheeses, not the "original" they offered. He thought it was a great niche because there were a lot of people there with kids in tow. Pfft. I told him that if we had kids, we would be having grilled cheeses at home! lol

    1. Heh. I was never a cat person, either -- my family had dogs. But then I went to an animal shelter one day....

  9. I'm dreading putting up the Christmas tree because I don't want to wrestle Kai the cat from it, or hear it crashing to the ground in the middle of the night. It was supposed to go up last weekend, it's still sitting in the box.

    1. Thankfully, none of that has happened. We just put up our ornaments last night, really high up on the tree because they're all glass. I just hope Feral Cat doesn't knock it over when he uses it as a scratching post. I hope you get yours up soon!
